The website, available at the address https://alumni.uvsq.fr, is a community site created by the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) - Paris Saclay to enable graduates, students, staff, and former staff of UVSQ - Paris Saclay to stay in touch with the university, promote education and research, strengthen bonds of solidarity and mutual support across generations, and exchange professional information for employment and career purposes.


Terms of Use:


The use of the website https://alumni.uvsq.fr implies acceptance of these terms of use. The site user acknowledges having the competence and means necessary to access this site and has verified that the computer configuration used contains no viruses and is in perfect working order.


The user must be a graduate or student, staff or former staff of UVSQ - Paris Saclay, have a valid email address, and provide their date of birth to activate their account and participate on the site.


Anonymous visitors can access the site, view public articles and events, but cannot visit profiles, post comments, or participate in discussions.


The user agrees not to use a pseudonym or email address that could infringe upon the rights of third parties (e.g., surname, trademark) or impersonate a name, corporate name, or registered trademark.


The texts, software, images, videos, databases, and any other works present on this site are protected by intellectual property laws. The site user agrees not to reproduce them without the express consent of UVSQ - Paris Saclay.


The site user guarantees to UVSQ - Paris Saclay that they have the necessary rights, including all intellectual property rights, to the testimonials, comments, images, and data of any kind that they disclose on this site, enabling them to grant the rights transmitted herein.


The user expressly and freely consents to the reproduction and/or representation of their testimonials and comments in communication materials intended for the promotion of UVSQ - Paris Saclay or the UVSQ - Paris Saclay Alumni network during the entire legal duration of protection of these testimonials and comments.


Messages and images posted are the responsibility of their author, who undertakes to assume all responsibilities and consequences related to them. In particular, the author of a message guarantees UVSQ - Paris Saclay against any actions taken by third parties that are caused, based on, or originated from the content of their message. Therefore, they agree to bear the amount of any judgments and defense costs, or any settlement compensation that may be due in the context of the dispute. The site's representatives disclaim all responsibility for the content of messages posted by users.


Registration on the site is done by simply activating a free graduate, student, or staff account at UVSQ - Paris Saclay. Subscribing implies the acceptance of the terms of use described in this charter.


Each member of the site is responsible for the personal account assigned to them from the date of activation of their account. It is their duty to keep it confidential and not disclose it to anyone else. All actions taken with this account are recorded and may be used in case of a dispute.


UVSQ - Paris Saclay reserves the right, without justification, to deny access to the site https://alumni.uvsq.fr to anyone who harms the image of the UVSQ - Paris Saclay Alumni network.


Usage Charter:


Whenever possible, testimonials and comments should be written in French to be more easily understood by the entire community of members and Francophone visitors. If this is not the case, the moderator reserves the right to translate the text (if a member or visitor has not done so before).


To facilitate site navigation and the reading of testimonials, choose an explicit title for the content of your testimonial. Also, consider providing geographical information about your subject. These simple details and the anecdotes or emotions you convey add value to your network.


For the respect and well-being of all, the following are prohibited: messages that are insulting, offensive, obscene, or defamatory, content that infringes on the rights of others, violent or inciting racism, pornography, pedophilia, or crimes and offenses, misuse of the site for propaganda, commercial prospecting, or political purposes.


The moderator commits not to intervene in messages in a way that could change their meaning but reserves the right to move them if a blatant error in thematic classification is observed.


Users can report disturbing messages to the moderator. The moderator can delete without notice any message that does not comply with the aforementioned conditions.


The moderator can ban any user from the community who abuses their freedom of expression to engage in systematic and non-objective criticism, intensive publications that harm the site's atmosphere, spam, and actions contrary to the law.


UVSQ - Paris Saclay undertakes to take special care regarding the accuracy of the information exchanged on the site and to update it regularly. However, errors or omissions may occur. In this case, we kindly ask you to report them so that the necessary corrections can be made.


UVSQ - Paris Saclay does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the site, especially in the case of maintenance, repairs, or disruptions in internet connections. It cannot be held responsible for technical failures and related data losses or any other indirect damages that occur during or are related to site usage.


Privacy and Personal Data Protection:

In accordance with the amended law of January 6, 1978, you have the right to access, modify, rectify, and delete data about yourself. To exercise this right, please contact the Alumni Relations Service through the contact form.


By "personal data," we mean any information that can directly or indirectly identify a person. This is often a name, address, phone number, or email address.


Protection of Personal Data and Privacy Policy:

The data controller for the personal data mentioned herein is UVSQ - Paris Saclay. The editor of the website https://alumni.uvsq.fr uses an external provider, OVH, for hosting the site.


The servers are hosted in Roubaix and Strasbourg at OVH, the leading European host, and the third largest host globally.


The initial data related to Users on the Site come from UVSQ - Paris Saclay. This data is necessary to create an account and access the services. It includes at least the first name, last name, email, and academic background.


Other data is optionally updated by Users themselves from their profile to present their expertise and projects to other Users in order to interact and create networking opportunities, connections, and generate statistics on professional mobility:

Personal information (phone, mobile, personal email(s), primary and secondary address), date of birth, marital name, family status

Current job and professional details (position, job type, company, sector, etc.)

The identity of Users is only publicly visible if the User has activated their public profile or Public CV. Each User is free to activate or deactivate their public profile at any time.


The identity of Users (First Name, Last Name, Photo, City, Country, Position, Company) is visible to other Users through the Directory (list view and map view) and through any interaction on the professional social network through an activity or participation by the User in an article, event, comment, groups, or discussions.


The information collected from Users on


 the professional network can only be viewed by other Users on the network (students, graduates, authorized recruiters, administrators). Users can limit access to their profile information based on the type of User through privacy settings.


Recruiters or representatives of partner companies provide the following data when creating an account:


Title, First Name, Last Name, Email, Position in the company

Company name and company address


External visitors to the network who register for an event are required to provide the following minimum data:


First Name, Last Name, Email


and, depending on certain events, the following data:


Address, Phone, Mobile, Date of Birth, Current Position, Company, Professional Address, Professional Email


When you use the Site, we automatically collect information, including personal information, about the services you use and how you use them. This information is necessary for the proper performance of the agreement between you and us, to comply with legal obligations, and given our legitimate interest in being able to provide and improve the Site's features:


Geolocation information: When you use certain features of the Site, we may collect information about your location, either through your IP address or your mobile device's GPS, to provide a better user experience. Most mobile devices allow you to control or disable the use of location services in applications from the device settings menu.

Usage information: We collect information about your interactions on the Site, such as page views, content views, searches, purchases you've made, and other actions on the site to improve the Site's services.

Login and device data: We automatically collect login and device data when you access the Site. The information of a User contained in the professional network's database remains the property of that User. In accordance with current European regulations, Users of the Site have the following rights:

Every User of the network can freely modify or delete the information they have entered on the network themselves. They can also request that the information concerning them provided by UVSQ - Paris Saclay be corrected, completed, clarified, updated, or deleted. No personal information is collected without the knowledge of network members.

UVSQ - Paris Saclay is the only entity authorized to hold the data and commits not to resell or transmit it to third parties and to ensure that this information is not used for purposes other than being posted within the Site. UVSQ - Paris Saclay may process your personal data in connection with your access and/or use of the Site. This includes data collected by UVSQ - Paris Saclay when a User activates their Account or updates their User profile.


The UVSQ - Paris Saclay Site is protected by the provisions of the Intellectual Property Code, especially regarding the protection of databases. Anyone who would create a file or database with information from the UVSQ - Paris Saclay site and make it available to a third party, for a fee or free of charge, without UVSQ - Paris Saclay's consent and in violation of the terms of use, would be subject to civil and/or criminal sanctions provided by the Intellectual Property Code.


UVSQ - Paris Saclay reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy to comply with changes in applicable laws and regulations. Any changes made will be notified through our Site or by email, wherever possible, at least thirty days before they come into effect.


Data Retention Period:

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes pursued, in accordance with legal requirements.


Your personal data will be kept for the duration of your participation in the Alumni network or until you unsubscribe from the network.


Security:

The Site User acknowledges being aware of the risks associated with the use of the Internet and networks, particularly the fact that information related to their personal data may be copied or intercepted. The Site User acknowledges and accepts these risks, for which UVSQ - Paris Saclay cannot be held responsible. UVSQ - Paris Saclay, on its part, implements all technical and human resources to ensure a constant level of security in accordance with the best practices in this field and to prevent attacks by malicious individuals. Some of the protection measures we use to protect your information include firewalls and encrypted data transmission using SSL/HTTPS technology.


Guarantee:

UVSQ - Paris Saclay undertakes to take special care regarding the accuracy of the information exchanged on the Site and to update it regularly. However, errors or omissions may be noticed. In such cases, we kindly ask you to report them so that the necessary corrections can be made. During its periodic verifications and interventions, the Site Administrator commits not to modify the Content in a way that could change its meaning. However, the Administrator reserves the right to move Content if a glaring error in thematic classification is noticed.


UVSQ - Paris Saclay does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Site, especially in the case of maintenance, repairs, or disruptions in internet connections. It cannot be held responsible for technical failures and related data losses or any other indirect damages that occur during or are related to the use of the site.


Applicable Law:

These Terms of Use are governed by French law. Any dispute arising from the validity, interpretation, and/or execution, termination, or breach of these Terms of Use, after the failure of any conciliation, will be submitted to the Commercial Court of Versailles.
