Résumé
Meet Margie-Lys Jaime R., a sharp and savvy counsel with 10+ years of experience practicing law—and a lifetime of experience traveling—around the world. This highly educated legal ace not only embraced her own academic career by earning a number of impressive degrees, but she also taught at the University of Panama at both graduate and undergraduate levels. She even lived and learned in Paris for more than six years, which explains her affinity for all things wine, cheese and bread-related.
Before joining Disan, Margie worked at the Harrison Institute for Public Law in D.C. Prior, she served as Chief Officer of the Services and Investment Department in the International Trade Negotiation Division of the Ministry of Trade and Industries in Panama where she participated in the negotiation of several trade agreements including a Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Margie is an active member of several professional organizations, which she balances by staying active at work (specifically, investor-state dispute settlement issues) and during her free time (she’s a self-proclaimed spinning class addict). Margie has authored multiple publications, spoken at international forums, and gets her global inspiration from cruising to exotic locations like Estonia, Dubrovnik and the Greek Islands. Of all the phrases on earth, “Bon voyage” may be her favorite. Or at least top five.
